Terms
Last updated July 28, 2026 · Version 2026-07-28
These Terms of Service form a binding agreement between you and Tidings Research. By creating an account, starting a trial, purchasing a subscription, or affirmatively accepting these Terms, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Notice, and the Disclaimer.
Eligibility and account authority
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract. If you use Tidings for an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind it. Account information must be accurate and current. You are responsible for protecting your credentials and for activity conducted through your account. Accounts and subscriptions are personal to the approved user unless Tidings expressly authorizes a team arrangement.
The service and automated systems
Tidings provides informational research tools derived from public records, company disclosures, market data, and other sources. Automated systems, including artificial intelligence and statistical models, may assist with classification, identity resolution, relevance assessment, summarization, quality control, fraud prevention, and verification workflows. Automated output can be incomplete or wrong and does not eliminate the need for independent judgment. Features, sources, timing, and coverage may change.
Subscriptions, trial, and recurring authorization
Before checkout, Tidings displays the price, billing frequency, trial length, renewal terms, and cancellation method. A membership currently includes a 7-day free trial and then renews monthly at $14.99 until cancelled. By separately accepting the recurring-subscription disclosure and completing checkout, you expressly authorize Stripe to charge the payment method on file after the trial and at each renewal. Stripe processes payment credentials; Tidings does not store full card numbers.
Trials are limited to one per person and one per payment relationship unless Tidings expressly offers another. Creating multiple accounts, using multiple email addresses, sharing payment methods, or otherwise attempting to obtain repeated introductory access may result in trial removal, immediate suspension, charges at the ordinary rate where lawfully disclosed, or account termination. Tidings may use account, device, payment, network, and usage signals to investigate suspected trial abuse.
Cancellation
You may cancel online through the Stripe-hosted billing portal available from your Account page. Portal cancellation is effective according to the option shown there and does not require contacting support. A cancellation during a free trial ends member access promptly. For an active paid period, cancellation normally prevents the next renewal while access continues through the paid-through date unless the portal states otherwise.
Manual cancellation requests may also be submitted through Contact. Submit manual requests at least 24 hours before renewal so there is time to process them; this support guideline does not restrict your ability to cancel immediately through the online portal. Keep the cancellation confirmation for your records.
Refund policy
Except where required by law, charges are final and non-refundable, including for partial billing periods, unused time, failure to use the service, or an account suspended for violating these Terms. Tidings may issue a refund or credit in its discretion for a duplicate charge, confirmed billing error, or material service failure. Any discretionary refund does not create a right to future refunds.
Text message alerts
Text alerts are an optional feature. By entering a mobile number and confirming consent in your account settings, you agree to receive recurring automated text alerts about Tidings Research signals at that number. Consent is not a condition of purchase, and no purchase is required to receive email alerts. Message frequency varies with the number of signals meeting the conviction tiers you select. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help, or turn the setting off in your account. You represent that you are the subscriber or customary user of the number provided and will update or remove it when that stops being true. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. See the Privacy Notice for how mobile opt-in information is handled.
Member content, data, and intellectual property
Tidings and its licensors retain all rights in the service, software, interfaces, selection and arrangement of data, analysis, scoring, annotations, research notes, signal timing, and member-only presentation. Your subscription grants a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your own internal research.
You may not scrape, crawl, systematically extract, bulk download, copy, sell, license, syndicate, rebroadcast, publish, transmit, or build a competing dataset or service from protected Tidings content. You may not share credentials; reveal member-only signals or analysis to unauthorized recipients; circumvent access, redaction, rate, or security controls; reverse engineer the service; automate access without written permission; remove ownership notices; or use the service to violate law or another person’s rights.
These restrictions do not prevent you from independently using public government records, quoting limited portions as permitted by law, making an honest consumer review, reporting a security issue, communicating with regulators or counsel, or making another legally protected disclosure.
Suspension, investigation, and enforcement
Tidings may limit, pause, or terminate access immediately when it reasonably believes or suspects that an account presents a security, payment, legal, operational, or misuse risk; violates these Terms; shares protected information; attempts trial abuse; threatens the service or other users; or could expose Tidings to liability. Tidings may preserve relevant records, cooperate with providers and lawful authorities, and pursue contractual, statutory, equitable, or other legal remedies for unauthorized access, data theft, misappropriation, infringement, or redistribution. Where appropriate, Tidings may provide notice and an opportunity to contact support, but is not required to delay action where prompt protection is reasonably necessary.
Investment and data risks
The service is informational only and is governed by the Disclaimer. It is not personalized investment advice, a fiduciary service, or a promise of performance. Public records and market data may be late, incomplete, ambiguous, corrected, unavailable, or already reflected in market prices. You are solely responsible for investment, trading, tax, and legal decisions.
Third-party services
The service relies on providers and sources including Stripe, Supabase, Vercel, Resend, government systems, market-data services, and model providers. Their products and availability are outside Tidings’ control, and their separate terms may apply.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, or investment result. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tidings and its owners, personnel, contractors, and providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; lost profits; trading losses; lost data; or business interruption. Tidings’ aggregate liability arising from the service will not exceed the amount you paid Tidings during the six months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so those exclusions apply only to the extent permitted.
Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Tidings and its owners, personnel, and contractors from claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the service, breach of these Terms, unauthorized redistribution, infringement of another person’s rights, or activity through your account, except to the extent caused by Tidings’ own unlawful conduct.
Changes, severability, and contact
Tidings may update these Terms prospectively. Material changes will be communicated through the service or account email, and renewed acceptance may be required. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms, the Privacy Notice, the Disclaimer, and checkout disclosures are the entire agreement concerning the service unless a separate signed agreement applies.
Questions, legal notices, cancellation support, and account disputes may be submitted through the Contact page.
