Privacy
Last updated July 28, 2026 · Version 2026-07-28
This Privacy Notice explains how Tidings Research collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit the site, join a list, create an account, subscribe, contact us, or use member features.
Information collected
We collect information you provide, including email address, account identifiers, subscription and plan status, communications, preferences, legal-consent records, and information submitted through forms. Stripe provides transaction identifiers, customer and subscription status, limited payment-method details, and fraud or dispute information; Tidings does not receive or store full card numbers.
We also collect limited technical and usage information such as timestamps, referral and campaign parameters, landing page, browser or device information, approximate network information, security events, login and account activity, feature interactions, and an anonymous first-party attribution identifier. We may combine information reasonably necessary to detect repeated trials, credential sharing, automated extraction, fraud, or other misuse.
How information is used
We use information to operate and secure the service; authenticate users; verify email and account status; provide member access; process subscriptions and cancellations; send service and marketing communications; honor unsubscribe and privacy requests; attribute signups and subscriptions to marketing efforts; improve features; investigate suspected abuse; enforce agreements; comply with law; and protect Tidings, users, and the public.
Automated and AI-assisted processing
Tidings uses automated systems, which may include artificial intelligence and statistical models, to analyze public-source material, classify and summarize records, assist identity and relevance verification, flag anomalies, support quality review, detect abuse, and help prepare research. These systems may process account or technical signals when used for security and fraud prevention. Automated outputs can be wrong; Tidings does not represent that every output is reviewed by a person.
Service providers and disclosures
We disclose information to service providers that support hosting, databases, authentication, payment processing, email delivery, security, analytics, market data, and model-assisted workflows. Current core providers include Vercel, Supabase, Stripe, Resend, and, for members who enable text alerts, an SMS messaging provider. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid process, investigate fraud or misuse, protect rights or safety, complete a business transaction, or with your direction. We do not sell personal information for money.
Marketing and communications
Service messages concerning authentication, billing, security, or material account changes may be sent when necessary to provide the account. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe mechanism, and unsubscribed addresses are excluded from future campaign sends. You can also contact us about communication preferences.
Text message alerts
Text alerts are optional and off unless you turn them on. Enabling them requires you to enter a mobile number and separately confirm consent in your account settings; we record the number, the time of consent, and the version of these terms in effect. Consent is not a condition of purchase, and email alerts continue whether or not you enable texts. Changing the number on file clears the prior consent and requires you to confirm again.
Messages are alerts about Tidings Research signals at the conviction tiers you select, plus occasional service messages about the alert setting itself. Message frequency varies with how many signals meet your criteria. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to cancel, or HELP for help. You can also turn texts off at any time in your account settings.
Mobile opt-in data and consent records are used only to deliver the alerts you asked for. We do not share or sell mobile opt-in information, consent records, or phone numbers with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers are disclosed only to the messaging provider that delivers the alerts on our behalf, and to no one else except where disclosure is required by law.
Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above, including providing an account, maintaining transaction and consent records, resolving disputes, preventing repeated trial abuse, enforcing agreements, and meeting legal obligations. Retention periods vary by record. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and requests
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or information about processing. Submit a request through the Contact page. We may verify identity before fulfilling a request and may retain information where permitted for security, transactions, consent evidence, legal compliance, or dispute prevention.
Age limitation and international use
Tidings accounts and paid services are intended only for people 18 or older. We do not knowingly offer member accounts to children. The service is operated in the United States; information may be processed in the United States and other locations where providers operate.
Changes
We may update this notice as the service or law changes. Material changes will be communicated through the site or account email, and the version date above will be updated.
